Queenscliff Music Festival wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our Q-Crew – a dedicated team of volunteers, many of whom return year after year.

We’re always on the lookout for passionate, reliable, and enthusiastic people to join the crew across a wide range of roles, helping with set-up and pack-down, or across the festival weekend.

Important information before joining the Q-Crew

  • Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 18 years or older (except AMPLIFY Youth Committee volunteers).

  • Shifts: Volunteers may be rostered any time during the Festival from 12:00pm on Friday 28 November until 6:00pm Sunday 30 November, unless you are volunteering in a team working before or after the event weekend. See each Team description for details of teams working outside of the Festival operating times.

  • Hours & Perks: You’ll be required to contribute 8-10 hours across the event to receive a 3 Day Festival wristband.

  • Code of Conduct: All Volunteers must agree to the Code of Conduct and must complete a mandatory safety induction prior to the event.

  • Registration Fee: A $20 registration fee is payable upon application. This goes towards covering costs of Volunteer Insurance, Q-Crew t-shirts and other OHS, administrative and safety costs. If your volunteer application is unsuccessful, your Registration Fee will be refunded.

  • Accommodation: Volunteer accommodation is NOT provided. Local accommodation options are here or Festival Camping is the best value way to stay in the heart of Queenscliff on the festival weekend.

Artist Accommodation

Your role is to prepare and distribute linen pre-festival, prepare artist accommodation including making beds, manage change overs of accommodation during the event weekend and oversee operations at Whitehall Guesthouse including managing the information desk and breakfast service.

About you: You have a high level of customer service and professionalism to support our artists and the ability to travel between accommodation locations in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale. Some volunteers in this team will need to be available in the days pre and post event.  

Artist Liaisons and Hospitality

Your role is to support all back of house aspects including supporting stage management, the packing and distribution of riders, maintaining the dressing rooms and providing a high level of hospitality to our artists.

About you: You have a high level of customer service and proefssionalism to support our artists, the ability to work in a fast paced environment and ideally prior experience working back-of-house. Some volunteers in this team will need to be available in the days pre and post event. This is a highly sought after team and returning volunteers will be prioritised.

Bars

Your role is Bar Service, including drinks service and using the Point-of-Sale terminals. Volunteers manage all bars within the festival precinct, the external venue bar at the Town Hall, and may support additional bar activations as required. Volunteers must provide a current RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL certificate. 

About you: You enjoy working in a faced paced environment and are able to work on your feet for the duration of your shift. Any hospitality experience is a bonus. You must have a current RSA.

Festival Arrival

Your role is to greet festival attendees as they arrive at the Main Gates, monitoring queues, supporting Security with regards to prohibited items and conducting visual wristband/lanyard checks to facilitate smooth entry to the event.  

About you: You bring high energy and enthusiasm and have the ability to work on your feet for the duration of your shift. 

Festival Transport

Your role is to support the smooth operations of our Festival Bus services, including providing information at the Bus Tent, scanning tickets in exchange for wristbands, queue management for end of night services and riding the buses during peak times.

About you: You are adaptable and proactive during peak service times to ensure smooth operations, as well as offering a high level of customer service to passengers. Experience in logistics or transport is a bonus. 

Food Vendor Management

Your role is to support our food vendors during the bump-in and bump-out process and be a liaison between vendors and the Event Control Centre during the festival weekend.

About you: You are highly organised and confident in working with our Vendors to ensure smooth operations and compliance. Experience in food safety or hospitality is a bonus. Some volunteers in this team will need to be available in the 2 days pre and 1 day post event.  

Green Team

Your role is to support the Festival to meet our environmental goals by monitoring bin hubs across the site and assisting festival attendees with sorting rubbish into correct streams. Please note this role is not required to sort rubbish, but instead help out festival patrons to do this themselves. 

About you: You are enthusiastic about our War on Waste and supporting our environmental and sustainability initiatives.

Information & Volunteer Services

Your role is to provide a high level of customer service to our festival attendees, managing the information points at the Main Gate and inside the precinct, including general advice and Lost & Found. Or managing the Volunteer Registration process including issuing wristbands and t-shirts and overseeing the smooth operations of the Volunteer Hub.

About you: You are resourceful with the ability to learn that little bit extra about the Festival in order to assist others. 

Kids Quarter

Your role is to support the activations and activities as part of our Kids Quarter, as well as assisting the artists performing as part of our Kids Program. Volunteers must supply a current Victorian Working with Children Check.

About you: You bring high energy and enthusiasm , with an interest in supporting our high quality Kids Program and the family-friendly nature of the event. Experience working with children is a bonus. You must have a current Victorian WWCC.

Merchandise

Your role is to manage the sale of all the excellent Queenscliff Music Festival and artist merchandise, as well as facilitate artist signings across the weekend.

About you: You like working in a faced paced environemnt and bring a positive attitude and a high level of customer service. Retail experience is a bonus. Some volunteers in this team will need to be available in the 2 days pre and 1 day post festival to assist with set up and stocktake. 

Site Catering

Your role is to manage catering for the crew and volunteers during the bump-in and bump-out phases. This includes preparing food, and maintaining the Pavilion as a food service area and general on-site meeting point.

About you: Availability to be in Queenscliff to complete at least two day time shifts during the 2 weeks prior to the Festival or 1 week post Festival is essential.

Site Crew

Your role is to support our professional Site Crew during the bump-in and bump-out phases. You will be briefed by the Site Manager at the beginning of your shift and assigned tasks that may involve putting up tents and marquees, unpacking or moving equipment and furniture out of shipping containers, putting up signage, theming or scrim or moving things around site or to off-site venues. Bring that elbow grease! 

About you: You are hard working, with the ability to undertake physical work, outside, and generally on your feet for the duration of your shift. Skilled volunteers will be prioritised. The ability to complete a 10 hour shift on one day during the 2 weeks prior, or 1 week post Festival is essential. A light lunch is provided.

Ticket Exchange

Your role is to welcome people to the festival, to scan printed or mobile tickets in exchange for wristbands, to sell ‘box office tickets’ and respond to ticketing enquiries. 

About you: You have a positive attitute and a high level of customer service with the ability to work in a faced paced environment and to be proactive to support efficient operations.
