Team Descriptions and Important Information below. 

  • Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 18 years or older (except AMPLIFY Youth Committee volunteers).

  • Shifts: Volunteers may be rostered any time during the Festival from 12:00pm on Friday 27 November until 7:00pm Sunday 29 November, unless you are volunteering in a team working before or after the event weekend. See Team Descriptions for details of teams working outside of the Festival operating times.

  • Hours & Perks: You’ll be required to contribute between 8-10 hours across the event to receive a 3 Day Festival wristband.

  • Code of Conduct: All Volunteers must agree to the Code of Conduct and must complete a mandatory safety induction prior to the event.

  • Registration Fee: A $20 registration fee is payable upon application. This goes towards covering costs of Volunteer Insurance and other OHS, administrative and safety costs. 

  • Unsuccessful Applications: Please note that volunteer positions are limited, and submission of an application does not guarantee a spot. If your volunteer application is unsuccessful, your Registration Fee will be refunded.

  • Accommodation: Volunteer accommodation is NOT provided. Local accommodation options are here or Festival Camping is the best value way to stay in the heart of Queenscliff on the festival weekend.

Artist Accommodation

Key duties

  • Prep and distribute linen to accommodation pre‑festival, and collect it post‑event

  • Prepare artist accommodation, including making beds

  • Manage accommodation changeovers during the Festival

  • Oversee operations at Whitehall Guesthouse, including the information desk and breakfast service

About you

  • Bring a high level of customer service and professionalism to support our artists and their privacy

  • Able to travel between accommodation locations in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale

  • Some volunteers will need to be available in the days pre‑ and post‑event

  

Artist Liaisons and Hospitality

Key duties

  • Ensure artists are comfortable and supported backstage

  • Prepare and clean dressing rooms

  • Pack and distribute artist riders

  • Support Stage Managers to ensure smooth backstage operations

About you

  • Bring a high level of customer service and professionalism to support our artists and their privacy

  • Ideally have prior back‑of‑house experience — this is a highly sought‑after role and returning QMF volunteers will be prioritised

  • Some volunteers will need to be available in the days pre and post‑event

Bars

Key duties

  • Provide drinks service at bars within the Festival precinct, at the Town Hall venue, or at additional bar activations

  • Use QMF point‑of‑sale terminals

  • Maintain bar areas to be clean and tidy

  • Work within the requirements of our Liquor Licence

About you

  • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment

  • Able to work on your feet for the duration of your shift

  • MUST have a current RSA

  • Hospitality experience is a bonus but not essential

Festival Arrival

Key duties

  • Greet festival attendees as they arrive

  • Manage queues to ensure smooth entry through the gates

  • Conduct visual wristband checks

  • Support Security to enforce our prohibited items & unaccompanied Youth policies

About you

  • Bring high energy and enthusiasm

  • Comfortable engaging with attendees and can hold a friendly but firm line to enforce our entry requirements 
  • Able to work on your feet for the duration of your shift 

Festival Ferry

Key duties:

  • Ensure attendees are queueing and boarding the Ferry safely and on time for each session

  • Ride the Ferry to monitor operations

  • Support artists performing on the Ferry stage

About you:

  • High level of customer service, confident engaging with attendees and working alongside Ferry operator

Festival Transport

Key duties

  • Scan Festival bus tickets and exchange for wristband 

  • Sell Festival bus tickets at the Bus Tent and on the Loop bus service 

  • Manage queues, particalrly for late night services

About you

  • Comfortable riding the bus service during peak times

  • Proactive to support smooth and efficient bus operations

    Food Vendor Management

    Key duties

    • Support the Site Manager to coordinate vendors during bump‑in and bump‑out

    • Monitor vendor operations to ensure compliance with QMF requirements

    • Liaise between vendors and the Event Control Centre during the Festival weekend

    About you

    • Highly organised and confident working with vendors and site crew contractors

    • Experience in food safety is a bonus but not essential

    • Some volunteers will need to be available in the days pre and post‑event

    Green Team

    Key duties

    • Help us meet our environmental goals by monitoring bin hubs across the Festival

    • Assist festival attendees to sort rubbish into correct streams — you do not sort rubbish; you help attendees do it themselves

    • Promote our War on Waste initiatives

    About you

    • Bring high energy

    • Enthusiastic about sustainability and our War on Waste

    • Able to work in the elements for the duration of your shift

    Information & Volunteer Services

    Key duties

    • Provide high‑level customer service

    • Offer general advice, manage Lost & Found & mobile phone charging services

    • Support Volunteer Registration, including issuing wristbands and t‑shirts and overseeing smooth operations at the Volunteer Hub

    About you

    • Willingness to learn extra Festival information to assist others

    • Customer‑focused with a friendly, positive attitude

    Couta Quarter (Family Area)

    Key duties

    • Help run activities as part of our family‑friendly program — mini golf, craft, face painting

    • Support artists performing as part of the Kids Program

    About you

    • Bring high energy to create a fun atmosphere for our youngest festival attendees

    • Willingness to participate in activities

    • Experience working with children is a bonus but not essential

    • MUST have a current Victorian Working with Children Check

    Merchandise

    Key duties

    • Manage sales of QMF and artist merch using QMF point‑of‑sale terminals 

    • Conduct stocktake and keep merchandise organised

    • Facilitate artist signing sessions

    About you

    • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment

    • Bring a positive attitude and high level of customer service

    • Retail experience is a bonus but not essential

    • Some volunteers will need to be available in the days pre and post‑event

    Site Catering

    Key duties

    • Provide catering for crew and volunteers during bump‑in and bump‑out

    • Prepare food — ingredients for sandwiches, snacks, drinks

    • Maintain the Pavilion as a food service area and general meeting point

    About you

    • Must be available for at least two daytime shifts in the 2 weeks prior or 1 week post‑Festival
    Site Crew & Site Decor

    Key duties

    • Support the Site Manager and crew to transform Princess Park into the Festival site — fencing, scrim, signage, marquees etc
    • Create festival décor

    • Prepare Town Venues

    About you

    • Must be available for daytime shifts during the 2 weeks prior or 1 week post‑Festival

    • Physically fit and able to work on your feet, in the elements

    • Building, trade, décor, or art experience is a bonus

    Ticket Exchange

    Key duties

    • Scan printed or mobile tickets and exchange for wristbands

    • Sell box‑office tickets

    • Support festival attendees with ticketing enquiries

    About you

    • Bring a positive attitude and high level of customer service

    • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment
