Queenscliff Music Festival is a creative, community-driven organisation committed to supporting the music, arts and cultural growth. Reflecting this commitment, the Music Industry Kickstarter Grant (previously Emerging Artists Grant) empowers emerging music industry professionals with a valuable opportunity. Over the past decade QMF has contributed to financially supportingover 20 local music industry professionals through this program and is proud to continue do so.
Ella Carty - Record and release Debut Album
As an alternative indie-pop artist from the Bellarine Peninsula, Ella Joan creates music that blends vulnerable storytelling, folk-inspired songwriting and experimental production. Following the independent release of her debut EP ‘Seed’ in 2023, Ella has continued to grow as a songwriter, performer and creative director. We are proud to support Ella in bringing her debut album ‘Maybe I’m Sentimental’ to life, with the grant assisting in professional studio support, equipment, visual content and marketing. Working alongside her four-piece band, Ella will continue developing a unique live experience and sharing her music with an even wider audience.
Lachlan Hurrell - Album Release and Promotional Material
As a performer, educator and environmental advocate, Lachy Hurrell creates music deeply connected to nature, community and the shared human experience. Guided by a reverence for Country and a belief in music’s ability to inspire connection and change, Lachy’s songwriting reflects his lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship and cultural exchange. We are proud to support Lachy in bringing his debut album ‘Dream’ to life through the creation of professional promotional material, including live videos, photography, album artwork and physical releases.
Oscar Rose – CUJO, Complete and Release Debut Record
Founded by Geelong musicians Oscar Rose and Matt Barber, CUJO blends psychedelic soul, jazz funk, acid house and experimental R&B into a unique and boundary-pushing sound. Built on collaboration, creativity and exploration, the project brings together over 25 local creatives to craft a debut record shaped by innovative production, analogue recording techniques and diverse musical influences. We are proud to support CUJO in completing their debut record, with the grant assisting in the final stages of recording through studio time, musicians, engineers and local creative collaborators. After three years of development and hundreds of hours of creative work, this support will help bring the project to life while continuing to invest in Geelong’s vibrant music community.
MJ Dangerboots – Develop and Release Original Electronic Music Project
As a DJ and emerging producer from the Surf Coast, Dangerboots blends the emotional storytelling of classic songwriting with the energy and movement of contemporary electronic music. With experience across live music, event promotion and performance, Dangerboots brings a unique perspective to creating music that connects audiences across generations. We are proud to support Dangerboots in developing a series of original works that reimagine familiar songs through modern dance production, combining nostalgia, melody and rhythm into a fresh creative experience. The grant will assist with music production software, professional mentorship, content creation and collaboration with local creatives, helping to refine the project and prepare it for release.
