Kyle Brew

    Raised in Victoria around a steady diet of VB, blues and garage punk, Brew has spent over a decade honing his craft through home recordings, four EPs and countless hours experimenting. Liv Cartledge

    Live Cartledge is a singer-songwriter from Beechworth in Victoria's High Country, writing folk-rock Australiana shaped by honest, unfiltered storytelling.     In 2025, Liv toured nationally with Australian folk heavyweights The Waifs, while her first single from an upcoming album has landed on Double J rotation, marking a bold new chapter. She is currently in the throes of releasing her debut full-length album, an intimate and hard-hitting collection set for release in mid 2026.

Mia Dyson

  • Description:

    Mia Dyson is an award-winning guitarist and singer/songwriter who has toured the country with the likes of Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Chris Isaak and many more. A multiple ARIA, APRA and J Award-winning artist, Dyson has been named one of Australia’s top 25 guitarists of all time by the Sydney Morning Herald.

    After growing up in the Australian bush and in the sleepy beach town of Torquay, she relocated to Los Angeles in 2010 - with international triumphs including supporting Stevie Nicks at the Santa Barbara Bowl and recording at iconic Muscle Shoals studios.  

    Since returning home to Australia, Mia won her second ARIA Award for 'Best Blues & Roots Album' in 2024 and has sold out shows nationally.

Midnight Chicken

    Hatched and hand-raised in Newcastle, Midnight Chicken are making waves in Australia’s bluegrass and country scenes. Known for their bizarre take on bluegrass, they deliver standout renditions of traditional tunes alongside captivating originals. Since forming, they’ve performed at major festivals like Woodford, graced some of Australia’s biggest regional theatres, and toured their debut album.

    Individually, members have worked with icons such as Kasey Chambers, Greg Sheehan, Phil Emmanuel, and Gina Jeffreys. Their debut album was featured on ABC Country radio.

Mika James

  • Description:

    Mika James is leaping out from behind the drumkit of Melbourne punk outfit The Vovos to unleash a modern nostalgic solo outing. James’ musical output swerves from cinematic country to punk-infused blues, with songs that heave with intent. Singing, writing and performing tracks that invite listeners into a world of personal poetry and intimate portraits, Mika James weaves melodious tunes sharpened with an edge of life experience. Her music evokes the raw landscapes of Weyes Blood, Sharon Van Etten and Laura Marling, while harking back to the world-building odes of Patti Smith, PJ Harvey and Bobbie Gentry.

    Indicative of the challenge in pinpointing the project’s genre, James’ live show exudes a wildness that can’t be boxed in. The amalgamation of her punk roots and folk voice has been personified through recent packed live performances alongside the likes of Alex Lahey, Bones & Jones, Alice Skye and The Slingers.

Musical Plants - Playable Streets

The Musical Plants are new experimental instruments that combine organic matter and bespoke digital sensors developed by Playable Streets. For the first - time these plant - based instruments are available for the public to play and create new live compositions. Swelling with textural waves and phasing rhythmic movement, The Musical Plants will be unlike any musical instrument you have ever seen, heard or played. The Musical Plants installation is open to everyone to interact with, explore, and make new collaborative compositions.

Oscar LaDell

  • Description:

    Oscar LaDell is a singer-songwriter based in Naarm/Melbounre, Australia. Raised in a rural seaside village in the south of Aotearoa/New Zealand by bohemian American parents, he grew up immersed in Blues, Soul and Folk music alongside a love of fantasy literature. Influenced by artists including Curtis Mayfield, Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt and Sam Cooke, LaDell writes songs that move between the personal and political, grounded by his rich, expressive voice and understated arrangements.

    Following tours across Australia, Aotearoa, the UK, Europe and the United States, LaDell has built a growing audience through his captivating live performances. He has supported acclaimed artists including Eric Bibb, Charlie Musselwhite, Robben Ford and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, and now is preparing to release his debut album, Untouchable, a coming-of-age record exploring heartbreak, resilience and the search for change.

Owelu Dreamhouse

  • Description:

    Owelu Dreamhouse (pronounced Oh-WAY-lew) is the powerful collaboration between Nkechi Anele (Saskwatch, ex-Olympian, triple j) and Nic Ryan-Glenie (Saskwatch, The Meltdown, Let Your Hair Down). This Naarm-based outfit crafts a unique blend of cinematic soul, psychedelia, and Afrobeat, with their name honouring Anele’s grandmother’s village in Nigeria.

    Both Nkechi and Nic are seasoned performers who rose through Melbourne's vibrant soul scene with Saskwatch, earning a reputation for electrifying live shows. They've graced stages worldwide, from Glastonbury to WOMADelaide, and supported legends like Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and Earth, Wind and Fire. Their highly anticipated self-titled debut album, meticulously recorded at Sound Recordings and Swimming Pool Studios with an army of dynamic local instrumentalists, was released in February 2026. Co-produced by Henry Jenkins (Karate Boogaloo, Mo’Ju), is a sonic journey. 

    Owelu Dreamhouse launched into the live circuit with a residency at Wax Music Lounge, followed by acclaimed festival appearances at Riverboats, Mordifest, and WOMADelaide, quickly proving their world-class groove. Following their independent 2024 single 'Africa BaBa / Coffees & Milk {Feat. N'fa Jones}', the band joined HopeStreet Recordings in 2025. Their debut album will be preceded by three new singles this year – 'Tourist,' 'Stutter,' and 'Niger River' – showcasing the incredible depth and diversity of their sound.

Peter Garrett & The Alter Egos

  • Description:

    Peter Garrett is one of our most prominent living Australians. A renowned activist, former politician, and lead singer of Midnight Oil is along-time campaigner on a range of local and global issues. He served as president of the Australian Conservation Foundation fortwo terms, which saw significant additions to natural protected areas, and the ACF grow into Australia’s leading national environment organisation. 

    As Minister for the Environment he instigated the successful historic International Court of Justice case against Japanese whaling. As Minister for School Education he was responsible for introducing the national curriculum, and for legislating a new needs-based funding system for all Australian schools.

    He is the only Australian politician to receive the ‘Leaders for a Living Planet’ award from the World Wildlife Fund and is a member of the Order of Australia for his contributions to the music industry and environment.

    Following the release of Peter’s 2015 memoir “Big Blue Sky”, here turned to making music with his acclaimed debut solo album, “A Version Of Now”. In 2017 he and Midnight Oil regrouped after a 15 year absence for “The Great Circle” tour, playing 77 shows in 16 countries around the world. The band then recorded two new albums– “The Makarrata Project” (with First Nations Collaborators), and “Resist”–which each reached #1 on the ARIA charts. Across 2022 the Oils performed their final concert tour, calling for social justice and environmental sustainability.

    Peter remains a prominent advocate for causes including ending the climate crisis, opposition to the AUKUS agreement, and the campaign for constitutional recognition and a Voice to parliament for First Nations people. He continues to make new music and will return to live performance later this year with a handful of special live appearances.

Reflection - Playable Streets

  • Description:

    It’s time to reflect, on a year, on a thought, on anything at all! REFLECTION is a space for people to reflect both literally and metaphorically and we need your help! In this installation, we will hold up a mirror to the world around us and explore what it means to reflect. From the mirror funhouse to the cool still water, we will look down, look up and look inside. 

    REFLECTION is a large-scale interactive installation that invites participants to draw and write on brightly coloured mirror shapes. REFLECTION encourages participants of all ages to see themselves within the context of their community. At night REFLECTION glows with ultraviolet light turning your drawings into electric lines of colour.

Rupert Bullard

  • Description:

    Rupert Bullard is an emerging, award-winning, independent folk musician from Lutruwrita/Tasmania. He has been performing and touring since he was a kid, busking in the local Salamanca Markets.

    At just 19 years old, Rupert's resonant songwriting has quickly seen him marked as arising voice, sparking widespread, international acclaim.

    Rupert is the recent recipient of the 'Emerging Artist of the Year Award' (Port Fairy Folk Festival) and the 'Youth Artist of the Year' (Folk Alliance Australia) and the Outstanding Young Performer Award (National Folk Festival).

    He recently toured the UK and Ireland in support of Mick Flannery & Susan O’Neill (Ireland), Haiver (Scotland) and a performance at the iconic Ruby Sessions with James Vincent McMorrow (Ireland).

    On home soil, he has performed sold-out headline shows and supported BIIRD (Ireland), Josh Pyke, Ainslie Wills, Ash Grunwald, Kim Churchill, Meg Mac, Tones & I and more to be announced. He has recently received praise from local publications triple j, RRR, PBS, BEAT Magazine, The Music, Atwood Magazine and several more acclaimed publications.

    Rupert is crafting his debut album in Launceston with revered producer John Castle (Vance Joy, Josh Pyke, Paul Kelly). The debut album is slated for a release in 2027.

Slow Art Collective

  • Description:

    Slow Art Collective is an artistic collective that focuses on creative practices and ethics relating to environmental sustainability, material ethics, DIY culture and collaboration. As an interdisciplinary group of artists, Slow Art Collective is interested in process-driven practices where the focus is on the act of making. ‘Slow art’ is a place for people to slow down. And it is about slow exchanges of value rather than the fast, monetary exchange of value. It is about the slow absorption of culture through community links by creating something together and blurring the boundary between the artists and viewers. It is a sustainable art practice, not an extreme solution: a reasonable alternative to deal with real problems in contemporary art practice.

    Collaboration is intrinsic to all facets of their work. Since 2009 Slow Art Collective has undertaken a range of projects that use the process of collecting to address the crossovers between artistic practice, creative sustainability and individual responsibility. Recently commissioned projects include Tokyo Biennale, Centre for Heritage, Arts & Textile, Hong Kong, Taragaon Next, Kathmandu, TarraWarra Museum of Arts, McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Powerhouse Museum, Mpavillion (Botanic Garden, Monash University and Dockland), NGV, Gertrude Contemporary and Esplanade Singapore. Slow Art Collective received and awarded many grants, including Creative Victoria, the Australian Council and the City of Melbourne

Small Town Romance

  • Description:

    Flora Smith and Jim Arneman are Small Town Romance. With watertight harmonies, button accordion and interlocking guitars they fuse folk, country and roots influences creating a sound that is uniquely their own. STR songs burst with life and finely attuned insights, their writing underpinned by an uncanny ear for melody and an innate poeticism. At times confessional, and at others observational, they know their way around a classic country song but make no apologies for singing in an Australian voice.

    Their upcoming release sees them stripping things back and foregrounding the effortless musical understanding between them.

    Their 2024 album Home Fires debuted at number 5 on the Australian Country ARIA Charts, number 3 on the AIR Chart, was selected as PBS Feature Album, 3RRR Feature Sounds and ABC Country Spotlight Album. Add to that three CMAA Golden Guitar nominations, a Music Victoria nomination and a slew of high-profile festivals and supports already under their belt, and it’s quite clear that STR are proudly carrying on the incredible legacy of Jim’s mother Anne Kirkpatrick and grandparents Slim Dusty and Joy McKean. And like Slim and Joy, you can expect to find them playing right across this big country, kids, guitars and stories in tow.

Sunday Lemonade

    Named the ‘People’s Choice’ at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, infectious indie duo Sunday Lemonade have created a serious fizz amongst crowds across Australia. With a splash of heartfelt folk, a dash of powerful rock and a generous squeeze of riff-driven roots, the bubbly pair are the refreshing rom-com soundtrack you didn’t know you needed.  

    Hailing from the Sapphire Coast of NSW — though proudly embracing life as enthusiastic van lifers — Tyson & Loz, affectionately known as ‘The Lemons’, have been relentless in their pursuit of music. Their momentum began building after taking out the Emerging Artist award at the Nannup Music Festival, a win that marked the start of a rapid rise through Australia’s live music scene. Since then, Sunday Lemonade have shared stages with an impressive list of acts including 19-Twenty, The Rubens, Sons of the East, Caravana Sun and Thirsty Merc. Their versatility and undeniable crowd connection have also seen them light up festivals such as Wanderer Festival, Music in the Park (Tones and I), and Blues at Bridgetown — proving their thirst-quenching effect across genres and audiences alike.  

    With 11 singles released since 2021, the duo have garnered strong support from community radio nationwide, charted on the AMRAP charts, and earned rotation across major stations including Triple M Country and ABC. The Gnomes

  • Description:

    Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, The Gnomes are a young four-piece making wiry, high-energy guitar music that draws equally from ‘60s beat, garage and left-of-centre power pop. Formed around the songs of teenage singer-guitarist Jay Millar—originally a prolific Bandcamp bedroom project—the band quickly took shape on Melbourne’s pub rock circuit, building a following on the back of sharp hooks and sweaty, joyous live shows.

    Their self-titled debut, released in late 2025, pushed them onto the international radar, picking up 4-star reviews in Mojo, Shindig! and Vive Le Rock alongside coverage from Creem and Raven Sings The Blues. Classic Rock praised their “high-octane, harmony-laden jangle rock nectar...absolutely everything Oasis could have been but for the addition of a single ounce of unguarded joy,” while Mojo called it “garage rock magic... the possibilities are endless.”

The Maes

  • Description:

    The Maes bring modern folk to life with lush harmonies and acoustic mastery on guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo. Born in Victoria, Australia, the sisters grew up immersed in a melting pot of music from around the world washed up on stolen land. The Maes are outstanding live, with engaging storytelling and spinetingling harmonies. The sisters draw their audience in like your sweetest and scariest friend. With echoes of Gillian Welch and The Waifs, there is a timeless luminescence and simplicity to the songwriting and sound of Maggie and Elsie Rigby.

    As well as selling out headline shows around the country and overseas, their international festival appearances include appearances at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival (USA) Edmonton Folk Festival (Canada) Celtic Connections Festival (UK) and Woodford Folk Festival (Aus).

    The band's fourth studio album, 'Abreast' was released in August 2025 and was supported by a tour of the UK opening for Grace Petrie as well as playing the Shetland and Orkney Folk Festivals. The Maes also celebrated the album's release by curating a one-day folk-festival-style event, 'Abreastival' in Castlemaine's iconic Theatre Royal. The band's previous albums, 2019's self-titled record and 2017's Take Care, Take Cover won the Music Victoria, Folk/Roots Album of the Year among a host of other accolades.

The Pretty Littles

  • Description:

    The Pretty Littles have spent more than a decade carving out their place as one of Australia's most enduring indie rock bands. Formed in 2011 by Jack Parsons alongside Sam, Liam and JP, the band has built a loyal following through relentless touring, sharp songwriting and a string of acclaimed albums.

    Their breakthrough came with the 2016 album Soft Rock for the Anxious, with the single "Pride" earning strong support from community radio and Triple J, leading to festival appearances and sold-out headline shows across the country. Since then, they've continued to evolve with standout releases including Skeleton Run, Weekend Away and 2025's Force, featuring fan favourites "Force" and "Australian Dream".
