About the Artist
Oscar LaDell is a singer-songwriter based in Naarm/Melbounre, Australia. Raised in a rural seaside village in the south of Aotearoa/New Zealand by bohemian American parents, he grew up immersed in Blues, Soul and Folk music alongside a love of fantasy literature. Influenced by artists including Curtis Mayfield, Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt and Sam Cooke, LaDell writes songs that move between the personal and political, grounded by his rich, expressive voice and understated arrangements.
Following tours across Australia, Aotearoa, the UK, Europe and the United States, LaDell has built a growing audience through his captivating live performances. He has supported acclaimed artists including Eric Bibb, Charlie Musselwhite, Robben Ford and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, and now is preparing to release his debut album, Untouchable, a coming-of-age record exploring heartbreak, resilience and the search for change.
