The Mojo Corner

  • Description:

They are Rock. They are Roots. They are Blues. They have Soul.

Together now for more than 10 years, The Mojo Corner are a tight knit unit of great friends and musicians that are continuing to grow and develop their sound. Never sitting still, they have a reputation for tight and energetic live shows. The songs written are from a time that is theirs and are straight from the heart. Not tied down to one genre.

There has definitely been ups and downs over the years with a few line-up changes along the way, but new layers of keys and backing vocals has lifted the music to a new level. The boys have released 3 albums including Whole Lotta Woman, Trouble, and Bullet On A Train. They have a live EP “Live at Manorism Studio” both as audio and as a visual experience that shows the true essence of the band. Their newest album 'Help Me Out' out now is where the ever evolving sound of the band shines.

The Mojo Corner have toured all around Australia and have played hundreds of gigs including Echuca Winter Blues Festival, Blues On Broadbeach, Woodford Folk Festival, A Day On The Green with Chris Isaak and they are now returning to the stages of Queenscliff Music Festival. They have played alongside and supported many fantastic well known Australian artists along their journey too.

A little rough around the edges, always up for a beer, they are ready for a good time.

Thelma Plum

  • Description:

Thelma Plum is a Gamilaraay woman, musician and creator. She grew up in Brisbane and spent many of her childhood years on her Grandparents’ farm in Delungra, a small country town in rural New South Wales.

She has been making music her whole life and has told one chapter with her debut album Better in Blak a story about culture, heritage, love, and pain. With incredible strength, courage and heartbreaking tenderness, her debut album captures so deftly what it’s like to be a young Aboriginal woman in Australia. The album became one of the most successful albums of 2019, nominated for 7 Arias and spawning 3 Platinum and one Gold singles. The title track “Better in Blak” came in the top 10 of the Triple J Hottest 100, the highest result ever for an Indigenous artist at the time, as well as winning the prestigious Vanda and Young “Song of the Year” award.

Far from receding from the public eye, she and her music have been involved in high profile campaigns for White Shirt Day and a number of household brands; for Netflix’s ‘Back To The Outback’ animated feature film (starring Tim Minchin and Eric Bana); press commitments such as recently being the cover artist for In-Style Magazine’s re-launch.

The adventure is always. And there is much more to come, and Thelma looks forward to you buckling up and joining her for the ride!
