Rob Major
About the Artist
DJ Rob Major is returning to Queenscliff Music Festival after making his debut last year. He is driven by two lifelong obsessions: music and moments that bring people together. He cut his teeth in the late 90s hosting a funk radio show and running jam nights in London, before landing a program on Soho Radio.
Since then, he's used that same instinct to turn rooms into shared experiences, playing stages, clubs, bars, private events and beachfront dance floors across Melbourne and the Bellarine Peninsula, including Misfits and Killing Time, with highlights including recently supporting Hot Dub Time Machine.
Rob loves to play funk, soul, (some) disco, hip hop, broken beat, (all kinds of) house music and possibly the odd drum and bass track. You'll find the following artists in heavy rotation: Kool & The Gang, James Brown, Stevie Wonder and Sly & The Family Stone, through to Daft Punk, Chic, Grace Jones and Cerrone, J Dilla, Arrested Development, to Groove Armada, Disclosure and Crazy P.
His sets bring people onto the floor and keep them there.
