About the Artist

Soulfully inspired, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter, Rob Edwards combines moving melodies with the powerful art of storytelling to create a unique and authentic sound.

Drawing inspiration from his Indigenous heritage and his family’s journey as part of the Stolen Generation, Rob’s sound—a seamless blend of jazz, blues, and R&B—etches itself deeply into the listener's soul, embodying a soulful inspiration, intrinsic to his roots. His music, enriched with resonant messages, becomes a platform through which he shares and fosters safe, transformative conversations.

Rob Infuses influences of new-wave soul makers Hiatus Kaiyote, Jordan Rakei, and Tom Misch to bring impactful messages supported by head-bopping grooves and tonal explorations with authentic storytelling. With his depth of musical expression rooted in authenticity and his commitment to his origins, emerges as a refreshing force in the contemporary music landscape, ensuring a profound impact on all who engage with his melodies.

Firing on all cylinders, a memorable performance at WOMADelaide 2024 with his band and supporting none other than Robbie Williams at the VAILO Adelaide 500 V8 Supercars, and national radio play on Triple J has put Rob on the map as one to watch out for in Australia’s new emerging scene.

With the release of his latest single “Dreaming”, Rob pushes further into a new sonic space, leaning into the jazz influences and hard grooves that are felt throughout this powerful song. A strong follow-up from ‘Apmere’, this jazz-infused tale right from the heart, a powerful and rhythmically driven journey approaches the complex subject of pain and healing with our First Nations people.

Currently in the studio working in his debut EP, this body of work is something he is very excited to share.
