There’s something quite animalistic about Merpire’s music, whose huge, gritty voice, whimsical turn-of-phrase and inimitable chord choices seem impossible to tame, were it not for a sobering honesty that could heal even the most stoic crowd.

It’s no wonder both her debut album, Simulation Ride, and latest album, MILKPOOL, landed Double J Feature Album honours, with MILKPOOL also debuting at #18 on the ARIA Charts and #19 in Double J’s ‘Best 50 Albums of 2025’.

Merpire’s captivating live performances have taken her dark anthems to stages including PANAMA, Brunswick Music Fest, BIGSOUND and NYE on the Hill, while supporting the likes of Julia Jacklin, Angie McMahon, Ball Park Music and Bombay Bicycle Club (UK). She has also toured across the UK and Ireland, selling out headline shows and sharing stages with some of Ireland’s best, including Pillow Queens and Ailbhe Reddy.
