Candice Lorrae
About the Artist
Candice Lorrae is a multi-talented, award-winning singer-songwriter and music producer, born in Garramilla/Darwin and now living in Naarm/Melbourne on Kulin Country. As a proud woman of Jawoyn, Torres Strait Islander, Filipino and mixed European descent, Candice has established herself as a prominent figure in the music industry over the past two decades, notably recognised for her contributions with the iconic pop duo The Merindas.
Candice Lorrae now embarks on a new body of work, passionately working towards the release of her debut album Paperbark & Lilies. Drawing inspiration from her own life, love and legacy, she describes her music as modern-day Fleetwood Mac carrying powerful stories that audiences will be enchanted by.
Candice brings to the stage a full live band with rich harmonies, textured guitars, synths, live drums and subtle electronic production, moving from stripped-back moments to high-energy songs made for dancing. The performance is further elevated by striking stage costumes and an interactive custom-built sound element inspired by her family’s fishtrap, adding a distinctive visual and sonic layer to the show. Most recently, Candice appeared as a special guest on tour with Liz Stringer and Emma Donovan, and later this year will join Three Fires tour alongside Radical Son and Jungaji.
