The Queenscliff Music Festival is run and organised primarily by volunteers. We value the outstanding contribution of our volunteers, and each year we are overwhelmed by your collective interest, enthusiasm and experience. Volunteers donate valuable time, skills and experience throughout the year and over the Festival weekend. There is a team of about 40 people who take on key volunteer management roles and around 450 volunteers who work during the event itself.
The majority of volunteers will be assigned a total of approx 8-10 hours work for the 2023 festival. In exchange for your volunteer work you will receive a 3 Day Volunteer Wristband entitling you entry to all three days of the Festival 24-26 November. All volunteers will also receive an exclusive 2023 Festival Q-Crew T-shirt to wear during their volunteer shift.

All volunteers will be placed in a team. We will be as accommodating as possible to suit your preferences however it will come down to what is available and where we need people to volunteer. Click on the teams below to find out more details.
We require a small team to help us prepare the accommodation for our artists. This role involves making beds, sorting linen and tidying houses. Another element to this role is greeting and directing the artists to where they are staying. This is suitable for someone who can maintain a professional attitude towards fulfilling this role.

Hours of Operation: Friday 11am – 4pm, Monday 10am – 2pm.
Capacity: 15 volunteers
This is a highly sought-after team. Due to the high demand, we only offer it to a small number of volunteers who have been committed to QMF for a number of years.
Do you enjoy working in a vibrant and fast-paced environment? We need a team of volunteers to help us serve drinks in our bars. This role includes serving customers, pouring drinks, stocking fridges and using our POS system (its very simple and training will be provided!). Please note all volunteers must have a valid RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL.

Capacity: 80-100 volunteers
We require some friendly volunteers to help run our campground. This role involves checking in campers, scanning and allocating wristbands, answer questions, direct people to allocated areas. If you are looking for something a little quieter or don’t want to work later into the evening, this is the role for you!
Desirable Qualities: friendly, approachable, great customer service, initiative
Days and Times of Operation: Friday 10am -9pm, Saturday 7am – 9pm, Sunday 7am -6pm, Monday 7am -12pm
Capacity: 15 volunteers
We require a team of volunteers to help us look after our external venues. This role entails monitoring the venues that are located outside the festival grounds, including capacity levels, assisting the artists and sound production staff. These are extra venues with additional performances from our artists all throughout town. You can still enjoy the music and performances while completing your shift.
Desirable Qualities: ability to work autonomously, customer service, responsible, reliable
Days and Times of Operation: Friday set up, Saturday 9:30am – 6:30pm, Sunday 9:00am – 5pm, Monday pack up
Capacity: 12 volunteers
This is a small team to assist in the smooth delivery for our food vendors. They will assist in bumping in/out the trucks, being a liaison for the vendors across the weekend, reconciling meal vouchers at the end of the weekend.

Hours of Operation: Thursday 8am – 5:00pm (bump in), Friday 3:30pm – 12am, Saturday 10am – 12am, Sunday 10am – 5:30pm.
Capacity: 5 volunteers
There are a small number of volunteers who fulfil unique and specific tasks and roles associated with the festival. Please only select this option if you are one of those people.
Help us achieve our War on Waste by being a part of our Green Team. This role is suitable for those who are passionate about the environment. It involves engaging with festivalgoers to help them sort their waste into the correct bin to avoid as much waste as possible going into landfill as well as generally tidying and cleaning around the festival site. Please note* you will NOT be required to sort rubbish

Capacity: 50 volunteers
This is a small team with a large amount of knowledge! They are a central point for all festival stakeholders. This area deals with patron questions, lost and found, volunteer registration etc.
Desirable Qualities: Customer service, resourceful, responsible, ability to multitask.

Capacity: 12 volunteers
Are you a fun and energetic person? With a full program of entertainment for the young ones, we need a team to help in our Kids Quarter. The role involves monitoring the kid’s area, assisting with craft activities and the artists performing on the stage. Please note this role requires all volunteers to have a valid WORKING WITH CHILDRENS CHECK.
Desirable Qualities: Outgoing, friendly, patient, creative
Days and Times of Operation: Saturday 10:00am – 5pm, Sunday 10:00am – 5pm
Capacity: 10-15 volunteers
Do you love merch? We require a team to help us sell it! Think of it like a mini shop, volunteers help us stock and sell the artists and festival merchandise. We are looking for friendly, outgoing people with fantastic customer service skills. You can also rub shoulders with some of the artists when they come and do signings in the tent.
Desirable Qualities: retail or customer service experience, friendly and personable

Capacity: 20 volunteers
Have you always wanted to see how a festival is built and comes together? Now is your chance! Our Site Crew are some of our hardest working volunteers and they find it one of the most rewarding roles. Help put together the big top tents and staging as well as assisting with all the aspects of putting the festival together. Alternatively, help us pull it all down after the festival! Please be aware this can be quite a physically demanding role so we ask for you to bring some elbow grease and be prepared to role your sleeves up! You will be able to enjoy the whole festival uninterrupted as a reward for your efforts.
Desirable Qualities: Hard working, able-bodied, competent with practical tasks, able to lift heavy items and be on your feet for long periods of time.
Days and Times of Operation: Monday 28th Nov, Tuesday 29th – 9am – 4pm
Capacity: 60 volunteers
We are looking for friendly and welcoming people to assist with ticket exchange and wrist-banding patrons. The role includes checking IDs, scanning tickets, fitting wristbands. We are looking for positive and happy people to welcome patrons into the festival and set a good first impression.
Desirable qualities: Customer service experience, confidence with operating a phone, positive attitude, responsible, dependable
Days and Times of Operation: Friday 9am – 11:30pm, Saturday 10am – 11:30pm, Sunday 10am – 5:30pm
Capacity: 45 volunteers
This is a dedicated team created to support volunteers throughout the festival. This team will provide support and services such as: Volunteer welfare checks, support for Team Leaders, extra support for teams during peak times, Q-Crew HQ venue management, volunteer information and resource desk, volunteer registration and accreditation.
Desirable Qualities: Strong Customer Service, resourcefulness, patience, communication, flexibility
