GraceJean is an award-winning folk duo whose warm, honest sound and heartfelt storytelling creates a cathartic space in which you can explore the emotional nooks and crannies of life’s experiences. With two voices, two guitars and stomp box, the duo’s music is abundant in rich harmonies, intricate guitar lines and compelling lyrics.
Heavily influenced by the joyous melting pot that is the Melbourne music scene, particularly by the likes of fellow Australian folk musicians The Maes and Oh Pep!, the sounds of GraceJean have been bubbling around since December of 2016. After supporting The Black Sorrows and winning a songwriting award in Darebin Music Feast in 2018, 2019 has been an even bigger year for the duo as they released their debut Album ‘Long black Road’ at the Thornbury Theatre in October as well as an EP ‘Live At The Skylark Room ‘18’ in January.
When not performing in intimate folk venues around town as a duo, GraceJean also perform as a four-piece line up for larger shows. The expanded lineup includes Thomas Young on electric bass and Sean Newell on drum kit, who bring a whole new life and richness of sound to the performances.
