Nathan Seeckts is a powerful singer songwriter who effortlessly fuses the sounds of Americana, folk, country & blues delivered with a commanding voice that is equal parts gravel & passion. His songs feature intricate, heartfelt storytelling that echo loudly and honestly from personal experience. Taking inspiration from the songbooks of artists including Bruce Springsteen, Jason Isbell, Lucero & Steve Earle, his songs could find him comfortably at home in any bar from Melbourne to Memphis.
2019 has seen Seeckts take the Australian country music scene by storm, starting in January with the release of Old Blood, the first taste from his long-awaited debut album The Heart Of The City. The single was instantly picked up for play by Double J,Twang on RRR, ABC Evenings, as well as Acid Country and 5 Feet High & Rising on PBS. It was added to rotation on ABC Countryin February, where it remained one of the top 10 most played songs on the station for the next 3 months. Old Blood was featured on Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Playlist for March, with Seeckts being recognised as an artist to watch in 2019. The film clip for Three Soldiers, the latest single from the album, was featured on Memphis’s DittyTV recently, with host Amy Wright praising Seeckts’ vocal power and bold song writing.
Seeckts shows no sign of slowing down either, with more tour dates planned, including a trip to the USA to showcase Americanafest in Nashville this September. A recipient of this year’s Queenscliff Music Festival’s Emerging Artist Grant, Seeckts has once again been invited to play at the festival in November, after wowing crowds in 2018.
On Friday March 29th, The Heart Of The City entered the iTunes Country Album Chart at #10 and received glowing reviews from Country Update Magazine, Rhythms Magazine / Post To Wire, The Music, Country Music Capital News and Owner Driver Magazine, who all noted Seeckts’ powerful voice and relatable lyricism as standouts within the Australian country music scene. He also appeared as a special guest on ABC’s Saturday Night Country with Felicity Urquhart and Jon Faine’s Conversation Hour.
Seeckts has honed his sound through bars and stages across Australia and North America, with appearances at Queenscliff Music Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival and Melbourne’s Poison City Weekender under his belt, Seeckts has also supported many fine Australian artists including The Teskey Brothers, Archie Roach, You Am I, Tex Perkins, Cash Savage and Raised By Eagles, and international luminaries including Joe Pug, Big Country, Courtney Marie Andrews and Deer Tick.
