King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Since the release of last year's debut EP Willoughby's Beach, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have been pretty busy. The 7 piece opened Meredith Music Festival and won a plum slot at Melbourne’s Big Day Out before a rip roaring successful support tour with Girl Talk. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are well and truly gaining a reputation as one of the country’s most exciting live acts. During mid April the band once again teamed up with Melbourne Producer Paul Maybury to start work on their debut album. Rising from the sessions is a new song ‘Bloody Ripper’ and its b-side ‘Sam Cherry's Last Shot’, narrated by The Dingoes singer, Broderick Smith. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard approached their new material for the first time as a solid 7 member collaboration, resulting in a whole heap of exciting new sounds.
