After a decade as the creative force and voice of Epicure, Juan launched his solo career in 2011 with the release of his, Too Long in Flight EP. Forming Epicure in his mid teens, Juan began the craft of songwriting at the same time. The band released 4 studio albums, toured extensively, developed a rabid national following, enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success selling in excess of 30,000 CDs during their career. Numerous Triple J Hottest 100 entries, National support slots with the likes of Gomez, Mia Dyson, John Butler Trio and sold out National headline tours are amongst Epicure’s achievements. Epicure called it a day during 2010, launching Juan into solo mode to continue his art. Currently recording his debut album with producer Dave Manton (Gossling), Superhuman is the second single release from the album sessions, following on from the late 2011 release of 'A Death in the Family'. A prolific songwriter and consummate performer, Juan is renowned for his emotive songwriting and trademark, haunting vocals. His ability to captivate an audience armed with just an acoustic guitar is a rare gift. |
