20 year old musician and Queenscliff local, Alister Turrill, brings to the table a fresh sound with a blues, roots and folk infused, slide driven flavour. Alister was the winner of the 2012 Apollo Bay Music Festival's 'Next Wave' Performance & Songwriting Competition, won the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society's 2011 'Youth In Blues' Competition and co-wrote the winning song of the Queenscliff Music Festival’s first ‘Rip A Riff’ Songwriting Contest (2010). Alister has continued to write, recording a live set mid-year 2011, with his debut album scheduled for an early 2013 release. With a lap steel or acoustic guitar in his hands, foot stomping percussion and passionate, powerful vocals, he has constantly played shows around Victoria, as well as a NSW debut; both as the main act and support for artists including Ash Grunwald, Tim Freedman, Fiona Boyes, Lloyd Spiegel, Geoff Achison, Tom Richardson Project, and The Black Sorrows.
